April, 2025 Newsletter
Hello friends,
Welcome to my April newsletter!
April is truly an awakening of nature. The daffodils are blooming, the birds are chirping, and the spring peepers are singing their hearts out. Last month during a warmer day my partner and I were able to get out and start some gardening. It felt so good to move my body and play with the dirt! I planted a myriad of seeds such as: Joe-Pye weed, wild lupine, and black-eyed Susan. My dream to have my own pollinator garden is coming true! I feel so lucky to be living somewhere that has ample space to garden. Now to patiently wait as the seeds germinate and do their thing.
Lately I’ve been spending my time participating in spring art markets, installing my artwork in a local hotel, and preparing for a big shop update! I have also been searching for part-time art related work that will hopefully provide me with some stability and a renewed purpose in the artist community. I have an interview next week, so wish me luck! And lastly, I have been very conscious about taking it easier than usual, as I am still recuperating from a back injury that began in early February. I am very pleased to share that I am starting to feel better, although it has not been a linear path and has required a lot of patience from myself and my partner to get to where I am now. Patience and staying present have been key in much of my life so far. If you are someone experiencing a lot of worry and frustration, sometimes that’s a sign to pause, take a deep breath, and focus on something that is grounding and safe. Like your feet literally touching the ground, the warm cuddles of a furry companion, or the sound of a bird outside your window. Not everyone has ample time to meditate for an hour each day, or wants to for that matter, but we can all find small moments that anchor you to this feeling of “everything is going to be okay, because I’m here in this moment”. It’s especially easy to find these magical moments now that the beauty of spring is upon us!
